I’m not here to give melanoma a bad rep or make cancer any worse than it can be. I’m here to humanize it. Give it a face. A name. (Un)fortunately I have the priveldge of doing so.

I’m Lauren. I’m 29 and I’ve had melanoma twice in 2 years. Both times (one being currently) in the most random of bodily locations (the first time on my scalp, and this time in the form of a large tumor thats hovering over my reproductive organs). So no - melanoma is NOT just skin cancer. It’s my Friday night and my Monday morning. It’s my blessing and my curse.

Blessing? Yes. Because good things can come out of cancer and that’s what I’m here to tell you.
